City Of Irving: Irving Archives and Museum
I am currently employed by the City of Irving's Arts and Culture Department as their Museum Marketing Intern for the Irving Archives and Museum. This role has given me the amazing opportunity to work with the Irving community, connecting with residents to promote special museum events, announce new exhibits, and share fun, family-friendly crafts for everyone to enjoy!

My IAM Projects

PROJECT 1: M4A Flyer
One of my first projects was creating a flyer and raising awareness for an incredible initiative called Museums for All (M4A). This program helps low-income families access museums for free or at a reduced admission fee of just $3. Since museum admission can be costly for some families, M4A ensures that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy an educational and enriching experience.
For this project, I designed a graphic for our IAM newsletter and website, clearly outlining M4A’s benefits. Additionally, I helped create a dedicated section explaining the program, pricing details, and its affiliated museums—ensuring families had all the information needed to take advantage of this wonderful initiative.

PROJECT 3: Retirement Invitations
I also had the pleasure of creating some retirement invitations to some of the employees of the Irving's Arts and Culture Department.
PROJECT 2: M4A/IAM Rack Cards
Building on the M4A project, I also created rack cards to further spread awareness. These cards highlighted key offerings at the Irving Archives and Museum, including programs like Spark!Lab, the IAM Store, and, of course, the Museums for All initiative. The goal was to design an M4A-focused card that informed visitors about the program while also showcasing fun and engaging activities available at IAM.
We were thrilled to receive interest from the Irving Library and the Irving Tourist Office, who offered to display the rack cards in their buildings to help promote our initiatives even further.

PROJECT 4: IAM Newsletter
I have the pleasure of helping lead the creation of the IAM Newsletter, which is published monthly and shared with over 3,500 subscribers—and counting! I’m responsible for putting the newsletter together from start to finish, which includes collaborating closely with our Archivist Coordinator to gather content, plan features, and ensure we have all related events for that month included on the newsletter.
Through this role, I’ve gained valuable technical skills, strengthened my eye for layout and design, learned strategies to boost engagement, and encouraged readers to open and explore each newsletter.
Below are just a few of the graphics I created that were featured in recent newsletters.

PROJECT 5: Social Media
Another fun part of my role is collaborating on social media content—particularly for our Instagram. I’ve contributed to brainstorming trendy and engaging video ideas, handled video editing, helped craft compelling captions, and managed posting to our stories and feed. It was very important to me that we create engaging, relatable, and informational content about what it's like to work at a museum, museum announcements, and just silly moments you have working for a museum.
Here are a few of the pieces I created and shared on our Instagram platform.

Here's one of our viral videos that blew up on TikTok — we were all ecstatic! It made me so proud to see our direction, editing, and shared sense of humor come together and really resonate with our audience.

Funky Picnic Brewery & CAFÉ
Had the wonderful opportunity to work for a local brewery/restaurant as their Digital Marketing Intern in Fort Worth. My responsibilities included creating organic content, copywriting, designing emails, tracking data on the performance of our posts, learning SEO, and formatting blogs.

Creating Content
Tools Used: Canva, Instagram, MailChimp, SquareSpace
Creating these designs was a huge eye-opener for me because I was able to be innovative in my creativity by improving certain aspects of my job duties or collaborating ideas in moving forward with certain projects assigned to me. I always loved painting, drawing, and using my hands to be creative in any way I could and that's when my passion for this profession grew.
My Funky Picnic Projects

Our Home and Away Series Posts that we partnered with other local breweries brought school pride in making collaborative beers for the upcoming football games TCU had with other college schools. Since we reside in Fort Worth, our college football team is the TCU Horned Frogs and for every home or away game TCU had, we would partner with the other breweries in the opposing team. For this game, TCU went against Iowa State Cyclones, so we reached out to the brewpub, Fenceline Beer Lab in Huxley, IA to partner in this collaboration beer, Valid Mansplaining, to sell during the week to hype up the spirits of our customers till game day.

PROJECT 2:
Brag Show & Brunch Event!
Some of the blogs that I spent a good amount of time on were, “Meet The Queens of Funky Picnic Shalula Davenport and Miss Venom.” With the help of my colleague, Alex Lopez, we were able to schedule an interview with icebreaker questions to get to know the hosts of our Brag Show & Brunch Event!
In concluding our fun interview with both Drag Queens we were able to write a blog about our fierce hosts while adding some additional information about: What is Drag? How did it originate? What does drag look like in other multi-cultural places? What is drag?
Blogging has also made me acknowledge besides writing content we had to correctly decipher what SEO tags would be best in entertaining current customers while attracting new customers by introducing the restaurant and learning something new about beer and hops.

PROJECT 3:
Instagram Stories and Promos

I believe the most amusing tasks that I had responsibility for were creating engaging and amusing stories and posts. These graphics whether it was an Instagram post, story, or a fun reel focused on a range of content from announcements of events, promotion of new menu items (for brunch, lunch, dinner, drinks, and The Back Room), and to even humorous posts that are “relatable.”
Canine Innovation
Alex Smith & Wiggle
This volunteer project was immensely beneficial in perfecting my craft of creating organic graphic content while working with our client, Alexandra Smith. And of course, we cannot forget the mascot of this brand, Wiggle the Poodle! This company is dedicated to the pet health and wellness industry and through improving your pet’s health they have created a product that's an automated treat dispensing unit and an agility course that helps dogs get their exercise in while allowing their brain to learn at full capacity.
Our client wanted to achieve 2 goals with our help, which was, how to improve on B2B and how to connect with B2C.

My Canine Innovation Projects

PROJECT 1: New Logo Designs
How to better communicate, work in a team, and help manage my team by being sure our deliverables were met on time were the various skills that I improved on during the duration of this project.
We collaborated with our client on logo designs, played with and organized the formation and layout of the website, and sent out a survey to our audience to see what content they would like to see about the pet health/wellness industry on our client's social media outlets.
In collaborating with our team and learning more about our client's business and how she wants her brand to speak to people, we were able to help revamp her logo.
PROJECT 2: "Blogs By Dogs"
For the website, we wanted to have an accessible and easy traffic flow for our client's audience by making them feel happy, a sense of fun, while being knowledgeable and professional. Our client wanted her audience to also see real dogs on her website and give them the spotlight, so she created, “Blogs By Dogs,” to bring a fun and quirky vibe and for everyone to have the chance to see their furry friend get their spotlight moment.
Here are some sample designs I created to give an example of how we can shine the spotlight on the dog chosen for the website.
Ultimately, our client loved this idea we designed!

PROJECT 3:
Creating Content
When it came to content, our client already had references of what she wanted her Instagram profile to look like. She wanted fun and vivid colors, cute graphics displaying either educational dog news, memes/fun reels, and reminders to sign up to become a Beta Tester to try out their dog products.
Here are some mock up social media posts we created for our client.
